#311 - Don’t Skip Ahead

Posted in Comedy, Talk, Explicit by robandjoeshow on July 26th, 2017

Rob and Joe wonder about listener habits, and receive many kudos for their recent TMOS appearance. There are a lot of ideas proposed for improving the show, but they require Robby to do more work. Rob is getting increasingly frustrated at the response to his jokes on social media. The "millennial" hustler is still getting into places he doesn't belong. Joe gets outed for lying to a fan. Gramps is up to his old tricks. Rob and Joe aren't getting any reassurances about the wild card they cast in the new murder mystery. The reporter who interviewed Rob barely mentioned him in the final article, but Joe is the one who is the most critical. Marcus is grilled about the future of O'MearaCast in light of his recent fill-in host's performance.

The Mike ‘n’ Mara Show

Posted in Comedy, Talk, Explicit by robandjoeshow on July 18th, 2017

Michael Chamberlin returns to answer questions about his life over the past year, and talks movies with Mara Reinstein once again. This week's show is a special landmark; but it seems that the more episodes are accumulated, the more the conversations remain unchanged. As if it weren't bad enough that Rob had an under-attended show, he may have actually been responsible for costing the bar money. Robby is super-annoyed with the cameo on the season premiere of Game of Thrones. Rob revisits a stunt that Joe pulled in the past, marveling at it in retrospect, and wonders if they might be repeating the same mistake. Joe does eventually learn his lesson about chatting with strangers, but it takes at least two times repeating that mistake.

#308 - Volcano Shrimp

Posted in Comedy, Talk, Explicit by robandjoeshow on July 11th, 2017

There is tension between the brothers before the show even starts. The Robinson family was all together during 4th of July week and Joe has plenty to say about Gramps and Robby. Rob piles on after reading Robby's most recent Yelp review. Die Laughing Productions will be kicking off a major run at a new venue, but Robby wants no part of that weekend's events due to the painful memory of being overlooked one year ago this month. Rob and Joe are stunned to hear what Robby has planned for his dog this fall. Rob spent his holiday at National Harbor, then later that week performed with his protégé Dr. Gil whose comedy he half-heartedly promotes. An ill-prepared, novice reporter interviews Rob for a local free paper. The man who never paid Rob for his Mocovox videos is in the news.
