#293 - Speed Dating with Gramps

When Rob goes to see a comedy colleague, he is reminded why its so hard to write new material. Rob proposes another attempt to do the show in front of a live audience. Joe finds himself rooting against the man who ultimately won The Masters for personal reasons. The former show announcer’s losing streak has a long history it seems. Rob and Joe remember Don Rickles and this leads to a conversation about which celebrity was the most prolific ladies’ man. To his surprise, the number of fish in Joe’s new tank suddenly doubles. When Robby happens to pass the restaurant where they made him remove his precious pup, he sees a group of people eating there with their dog under the table. Rob and Joe see the marketing potential for United Airlines’ recent passenger trouble. Joe recalls a troubling childhood memory. Rob and Joe inquire about Robby’s current situation at home in a bonus show preview.

#292 - Just the Tip

Rob and Joe get a little too excited about women’s final four basketball. Marcus reveals a major shift in his relationship with the Vermont Bucks. A bathroom etiquette question arises from something Rob observes at the DC Improv. He then puts his foot in his mouth when he calls a server by the wrong name at the same club. Rob touts his guest appearance on The Tony Perkins Show. Joe can't stop his group texting obsession now that baseball season has started, and he still refuses to remove Rob from the chain. The fake millennial comedian works his way into a local comedy competition. Erik Woodworth joins the conversation by on the phone to talk about his performance in the latest Die Laughing Productions debut where he finally went too far. Joe is amazed by his girlfriend’s ability to recall some obscure songs.

#291 - Touchdown!

Robby is not here because he is prepping for another murder mystery. Rob and Joe talk about Robby's importance to the show and his stress. Joe had a lot to share from his Vegas trip including a hotel room upgrade secret. Joe faces "The Cooler" when placing some bets. Joe encounters a college basketball fan who doesn’t appreciate him rooting for the opposition, plus a bitter bartender. Dave Chappelle is back on the comedy scene, and Rob and Joe discuss his return. Rob, Joe and Marcus compare their most famous celebrity encounters after Tawanda has a brush with an A-lister at brunch. Joe won’t be able to watch some great TV until Katie wants to watch too, he gets very sick and/or the new fish tank gets stocked. Rob does a show with a comic for whom he now has great appreciation. Die Laughing Production goes worldwide, but Rob and Joe may not be going anywhere. The CAN-AM Indoor Football League season is underway, and Rob and Joe have a lot of questions for Marcus about it.

#290 - Stand Up and Sit Down

Drugs and alcohol seem to permeate the comedy scene as Rob describes a few gigs this week. At the murder mystery on Sunday, Joe's girlfriend almost gets into a fight with a disruptive audience member. Joe feels guilt about not being there to defend her. Robby messes around with another man's sound equipment. Rob and Joe see a lot of fans, but one of them attends the show covertly. Rob and Joe create their Mt. Rushmore of movie characters. Without Robby there to restrict it, the show wraps with some NCAA Tournament talk.

#289 - Ass Wednesday

Marcus’s deal with the Vermont arena league football team is finalized, and Rob and Joe have a lot of questions. Rob does a gig at a golf practice range where they know very little about putting on a comedy show. Rob doesn’t understand the religious observance of Lent, but luckily Katie is available to explain. She also makes a spontaneous revelation about her own brush with arena football. Joe inquires about Robby’s ongoing difficulties with his house cleaning service. A very odd student in Rob’s driver improvement class over-shares. Joe reviews the movie “Get Out”. Robby forgets to make his weekly guesses in the Bachelor Fantasy League, giving the others a fighting chance. Gramps will be attending another murder mystery in Annapolis where he always makes himself right at home, but Rob is more worried about his own parent attending that show. Rob fears the wrath of Robby when he must inform him that his many hours of production for an upcoming show must be scrapped. Joe is then suddenly reminded that he’s once again neglected to relay another Monday night conflict.

#287 - Politics & Sex

The Die Laughing Productions players seem to have taken the nursing home gig seriously. It’s only been ten days, but Robby is already eager to record another bonus show. Marcus’s wife learns that their marital secrets were revealed on one of those premium episodes. Rob flaunts his encounter with Bernie Sanders’ national press secretary to make Marcus jealous. Rob tries in vain to extract himself from an obligation to do several shows in Southeastern Virginia. Joe presents a theory on the controversy surrounding this year’s Best Picture Oscar, and an analysis of the entire broadcast follows. Mac Bergson releases his power rankings and Robby’s strong opinions stated on the previous show, not surprisingly, hurt his position. Scott Apple proposes some interesting names for his awaited daughter. Rob reveals that someone in the MORE family might have to take his driver improvement class. Joe saw entirely too much penis over the weekend. Robby gets a distracting text during the show that once again highlights his aggressively proactive nature.

The Pionerds

Rob poses a challenging reality show hypothetical. Rob and Joe commiserate over the difficulties of binge watching TV shows with their girlfriends. Scott Apple finishes his light saber and there is a debate over whether its ‘cool’. Die Laughing Productions receives a quote request for a performance in Pennsylvania that would likely be the worst gig ever. Joe is heading for the slopes with the 98 Rock morning show crew.

#284 - A Show for Millennials

Rob wonders if Joe will try Outback’s decadent new appetizer combination. Two much-discussed characters have a brief (but decisive) verbal battle on social media. Rob and Joe ponder the busy schedules of Marcus and Robby. Marcus lists potential candidates for the “Mt. Rushmore” of TMOS listeners and Rob and Joe try to determine who among their own audience would be memorialized. Another friend of the show wants to try standup comedy, but Rob and Joe are skeptical as always. Joe scrutinizes the “Song of the Year”, Carpool Karaoke and the plot of Purple Rain during a review of the Grammy Awards. Rob polls everyone on their top-five current TV shows. Rob and Marcus guess what Joe bought Katie for Valentine’s Day. Discussing the most recent murder mystery show, Joe admits to making a women cry. This leads to an impromptu ranking of the most common places where people have sex.

#283 - Lie, Cheat, and Steal.

Rob is the victim of a new, mild form or racism. Rob and Joe contemplate the disappointment of Atlanta sports fans and the dislike for the Patriots dynasty. Lady Gaga’s leap from the roof of NGR stadium inspires a strange conversation about preferred methods of suicide. Joe emails Robby with a question, and as is often the case, doesn’t like the tone of his brother’s response. Rob returns from another tour entertaining our troops and describes some passport and visa complications while also revealing a state secret. The murder mystery troupe performs for the first time (and probably the last) at a new venue. Joe feels another podcast has pilfered a ‘Rob and Joe’ bit. The fake millennial is in the spotlight again, and Rob and Joe do some role play to illustrate how the satellite radio interview went. Robby is extending his lead in the Bachelor Fantasy competition, and no one is surprised. This leads to more talk about TV and gray market video streaming.

Doing Lunch With Shelly

Ben Collins from The Daily Beast joins the show to discuss his pivotal piece on the Keyser Soze of Comedy. The possibility of finding a documentary filmmaker to fully expand on this story is explored. The conversation is then graced by Alex Bell from Isle of Mann’s Manx Radio. Rob and Joe get the scoop on the tiny country’s history surrounding blood sports. They then try to plan a promotion that would gather all of Dan’s comedy enemies (and hopefully the world-traveler himself) for one big show on the island. Robby is reminded of an old feud while channel surfing, and Joe has an update on it four years later. Rob proposes a new way to include Chris Restivo on the show, and then has some good advice for all of the outspoken Trump detractors. Robby has new information about his college professor discussed on the previous episode, and Joe makes a connection when he learns the man’s name. Rob and Joe lose a patron over some of the premium content offered. Rob has booked a last-minute trip performing overseas.
